Our content's purpose is to provide listeners - Rural and Urban - with useful material.

Foodland Forum program content originates from our own Audio production studios. There's always something new - Web Cast & Broadcast Radio content updated daily.

Foodland Forum's 4 Program Pillars:

  1. Food Crops program deals with growing fruits and vegetables in gardens, orchards & fields. Daily topics include growing food for your own table, requisite do's and don'ts for General Public Sale - at farm gate, wholesale and retail locations. Topics involve soils, fertilizers, diseases, pests, seeds, transplants and Growth Zones any subject relevant to Horticultural interest. Production research is discussed along with issues relating to Conventional, Traditional, Organic & Chemical-free cropping methods. Special interest, seasonal topics include Regional Crop Harvests.

  2. Livestock content involves any farm-raised animal with Hair, Fur or Feathers. Issues of alternative livestock production are highlighted, along with traditional livestock production/husbandry and housing issues. Veterinarians are frequent guests on this program, relating issues of concern for our various livestock species. Heritage livestock breeds are a major program topic. Every 4th day focuses on an Equine topic - horse, mule or donkeys; Horse breeds, training, riding and driving techniques, safety issues and just 'making your horse useful around the farm'.

  3. Health & Environment: 'Health' deals with healthy foods, food safety news and issues, allergies, etc. Also relates issues beyond Food into areas of human health including ground water/your farm/your home - your environment, latest regulations about rural environmental rules at municipal, provincial and federal government levels and your environmental responsibilities as a rural landowner.

  4. Technology & Management: Technology relates to farm equipment: Tractors, implements, livestock feeding and handling equipment. Your farm-office equipment: Hardware, Ag-software, high-speed/wireless updates, etc. Farm management stories: Tenant share-cropping arrangements, property tax updates - any and all stories and issues relevant to running the business of your Farm Property.
